Behavioral Mediation + Conflict Management
Individual Support, Family Mediation, Family Business & Workplace Conflict Management
Mediating Effectiveness is a comprehensive behavioral dialogue, mediation, and coaching system for personal, family and organizational conflict. Conflict is unavoidable, yet illuminates what’s going on within us and in our context, providing insight into our state of being, the quality of our presence, our interactions, and our impact in all aspects of our life. By integrating mindfulness with behavioral and management sciences, we can enhance our internal and external harmony, development and effectiveness.
Internal and External Mediation is the intervention in a process, processes going on within us, and externally as we interact in our environment. Through attentive inquiry, we can explore the self, our internal dynamics and our relational dynamics, facilitating deeper understanding of our past, the present, and the best way forward. This approach also encourages the awareness, perspective, structured problem-solving and relational dynamics essential in facilitated conversations and mediated cases.
Areas of Practice
-
Empowering individuals to better navigate personal, family and workplace challenges through a comprehensive model of behavioral dynamics and contextual inquiry. The conflict lens provides an illuminating and effective internal view of presence (self), relational dynamics (others), the social, family or workplace environment (context) and the interrelationship between the three. Underpinning this approach is an exploration of childhood and life experiences and the embodied impacts that show up today in various forms including constriction, beliefs, suppressed and dysregulated emotions, and reactionary patterns. These adaptations get in the way of our optimal function and often have psychological and physical consequences. There are also positive impacts from our earlier experiences, and these are explored and utilized to our advantage in our healing and development journey.
-
Resolution for personal, family and workplace conflict following a behavioral mediation framework focusing on self-awareness and effective relational dynamics within our context. The emphasis is on the pre-mediation phase focusing on self, while considering context specific behaviors. This approach often leads to pre-mediation resolution, or at least a more effective mediation, improving outcomes for individuals and the entity, whether workplace, social or family systems.
-
Understanding family and organizational systems to discover the core concerns of all involved by way of a systematic approach integrating the context and experiences of all. Through this process real solutions can be identified and implemented that lead to sustainable change and transformation at the individual and collective level.
-
Workplace training focused on personal and professional effectiveness enhancing professional presence and interpersonal dynamics. Outcomes include reduced conflict, increased resilience, decreased stress, improved morale, and more effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
Andrew MacDonald
Over 25 years of behavior and conflict experience in private practice and consulting and leadership roles has provided insight into the profound impact conflict has on individuals, families, employees, the workplace, and of course our broader lives. Through understanding conflict, its source, expression and the mind-body connection, we gain an invaluable window into ourselves and others. Using conflict as a lens I developed a systematic approach to improve self-awareness, presence, relational dynamics, and our decision-making, positively transforming our lives on a personal level as well as within our social, family and professional contexts.
